All of our programs provide the client with the tools, understanding, and materials necessary to implement the strategies into their every day lives and achieve positive results. There will be follow-up work for each program. For example, the Davis® Dyslexia Correction Program will require Davis Symbol Mastery® of 217 trigger words (those words that do not have a visual image), as well as reading exercises, and Koosh exercises. Regardless of the program, Support Training is provided on the last day for family members, tutor(s) and/or teacher(s) who will support the client in their follow-up work.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Program

Who can receive a Davis Program?

Adults or children who are 8 years old or older and who are gifted with dyslexia. The client must be willing and motivated to pursue the program for self-improvement, not because someone else thinks it is a good idea.

What can a client expect to gain?

The basic tools of literacy, including: the ability to recognize and correct disorientations at will, the ability to focus attention, the knowledge of how to eliminate confusions caused by words and symbols, increased self-confidence and ability in reading, writing, math or physical skills, a method of learning that can be used throughout life.

How is the Davis Program different?

The Davis methods address the root cause of learning disabilities. The program corrects the learning disability using the natural strengths and talents of the individual's personal style. It is fun.

The Davis program does not rely on instruction-based phonics, colored-overlays, rote memorization, physical devices or medications. Many other programs address only the symptoms and involve a lot of drill and repetition (which dyslexics often find boring and tedious).

How much does a program cost?

The cost of a program varies depending on your needs, but the fee for the 5-day intensive program is usually $3,500. This includes:

  • An assessment to establish your needs and goals for the program
  • A one-to-one week long program with a Licensed Davis® Facilitator (see Program Specifics for typical scheduling)
  • Support training for anybody who is going to provide future support for the client
  • A student kit
  • Three follow-up visits if required
  • Unlimited telephone and email support

The fee should be paid on the first day of the program, but installments can be arranged on request. We accept personal checks and credit cards through PayPal.

Please inquire about the fees for the Davis Autism Approach®, as they vary from the other program offerings.

Overview of the Davis® Dyslexia Correction Program

Davis® Orientation Counseling, as outlined in The Gift of Dyslexia by Ronald D. Davis, provides clients with the ability to detect and self-correct distorted perception caused by confusion with letters, words, numerals, and other symbols.

Working with clay allows for confusion to be realized and resolved - in a multi-dimensional, creative way that fits the dyslexic thinking and learning style.

Clients start by resolving confusion with the basic literacy symbols, including letters (above) and punctuation marks.

Clients then work with clay to master words that do not give them a picture. We call these "trigger words" and there are 217 words identified by Davis that need to be mastered. Most of these words will be done at home, after the one-week program.

Clients attending the Davis Math Mastery® Program* or Davis® Attention Mastery Program for ADD/ADHD* also cover concept mastery, including self, change, consequence, before, after, cause, effect, time, sequence, order and disorder.

*Please note that these programs generally run longer than the 30-hour Davis Dyslexia Correction® program (typically about 8 days rather than 5).
